Last week I had the privilege of spending it with the incredibly talented Ash from @filmandfoliage attending one of her @academywildflower workshops. We embarked on a journey into the world of bridal bouquet design, exploring new techniques and refining our skills. It was a day filled with inspiration, learning, and a renewed commitment to never stop growing as a floral designer.
We began the day with a restrictive creative challenge, experimenting with a limited number of stems and flower varieties, which really got us thinking about our materials, and the purpose they serve in our designs. It was fascinating to witness Ash in action as she effortlessly manipulated delicate stems into breathtaking arrangements. Next we explored various colour palettes that dance harmoniously together. Ash patiently shared her knowledge, explaining the principles of balance, texture, and movement within each arrangement.
What truly resonated with me was Ash's unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and refinement. She stressed the importance of staying curious, seeking inspiration from unexpected sources, and embracing new techniques that push the boundaries of creativity. It was a reminder that no matter how seasoned or skilled we become, there is always room to grow, evolve, and elevate our artistry.
As the day drew to a close, we marveled at the stunning bouquets we had created together. Each arrangement was a testament to our shared dedication to our craft, showcasing the beauty that can unfold when passion meets expertise.
The day spent with Ash reminded me that being a floral designer is not merely a profession but a lifelong journey of discovery, inspiration, and growth. I vow never to give up on refining my techniques, to continuously seek out new knowledge, and to infuse my work with boundless creativity. As I reflect on this wonderful day spent with Ash, I am filled with gratitude for her guidance and mentorship. The experience was a testament to the power of collaboration and the immeasurable value of learning from others who share our passion. With renewed energy and an open heart, I am excited to embark on this ever-evolving floral journey!
